Scheme in West Bengal : On the initiative of Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee another special scheme has been launched for the welfare of the people of the state. Social Security Scheme Eligibility 2023.
- Social Security Yojana main qualification is that the applicant should be a permanent resident of West Bengal.
- Age of applicant should be minimum 18 years and maximum 60 years.
- Only unorganized workers can apply for this scheme.
- If the family monthly income is more than 65 thousand rupees then the Social Security Yojana cannot be applied for.
- There is no income ceiling for construction workers and transport workers.
Social Security Scheme Benefits.
- Under the Social Security Scheme, the government will provide financial assistance to the family for the education of up to two children during their studies. For example: 4 thousand taka for class XI, 5 thousand taka for class XII. 6 thousand rupees per annum for ITI, 6 thousand rupees for BA (Arts/Science/Commerce) and 10 thousand rupees per annum for Post Graduate (PG) level.Also, there is a facility of Rs 10,000 in polytechnics, Rs 30,000 per year for those studying medicine/engineering under this social security scheme.
- Apart from this, financial assistance of 25 thousand rupees each will be provided to two daughters for completing their studies up to post graduation if unmarried.
- Social Security Scheme beneficiaries and their family members can get a subsidy of Rs 20,000 through the West Bengal Health Scheme.
- Besides, you will get an allowance of 60 thousand rupees every year for surgical treatment.
- If the breadwinner of the family falls ill due to an accident and is unable to work, he will get a maximum of 10,000 rupees. To help run the family.
- Also for Provident Fund, if you put 25 rupees per month in the account for the benefit of the Provident Fund scheme, you will get that money back after 60 years with interest. If the beneficiary’s account is closed or the beneficiary dies, all the money will go to the heirs.
- A written application with Social Security Yojana Form 1 has to be submitted for availing the benefit of Vishyanidi Scheme.
- In case of death due to accident, his family will get Rs 2 lakh.

- 50 thousand assistance for physical disability.
- If due to any reason loss of sight of two eyes or loss of function of two hands or loss of movement power of two legs then you will get support of 2 lakh rupees.
